My top 10 favourite Hallmark Channel movies!
The countdown to Christmas is on. With 41 days to go, we'll be celebrating Christmas in no time, it means home for the holidays, good food, eggnog, yes...Late last year I found out that people actually make this in South Africa, I really thought it was an American thing, but I'm ready to give it a try this year.
So hook me up with that recipe!
Also, let's not forget the gifts, but most importantly some great quality time with family and friends.
Christmas time has always been really fun for me.
Growing up, my mom always made Christmas very special and still does, just recently we put the tree up together and got all the decorations out. We also decided to start some new traditions which we can pass on to the generations to come. I'll share that in a video soon.
Throughout the years, I've had some very special Christmas moments, back in 2011 however, I wasn't home for the first time - we didn't have a Christmas tree or a turkey, but it was still a really fun time for us all. I had a television performance on Christmas Day, just after I had recorded my Worship album and even though we weren't home. I had my family with me (In an extremely deserted area) I must add, but my mother still got us gifts and we still had a really peaceful and joyous festive season.
In the years before and after, we spent Christmas with close relatives, went carolling, the food was always great and, "Ti's the season to be jolly."
Now, for those of you who don't know, in our household - we didn't watch television and the only show I listened to, (yes, listened to) was a show called
I don't watch television at all nowadays, but with the latest additions like netflix and show max, sometimes I watch an episode or two - but back in the day, Christmas was one of those times, where my folk actually allowed my brother and I to watch movies and TV - And we'd watch every single famous Christmas movie, from, "Home Alone," which was released in 1990, which I pretty much watched every year since I was born, to, "The Santa Clause, " released in 1994.
These movies would air every single day in the December period, which we loved!
The Hallmark Channel has always been a MUST, and guess what!??
If you don't have a netflix or show max account, the Hallmark Channel in my opinion, is the next best thing. Cheesy, romantic and predictable is exactly what we love. Also, there's movie for you to watch every single day, just to lighten your spirit and get you into the Christmas mood.
The best part is, it's accessible to anyone who has a reliable WiFi connection, and - It's on You Tube.
Just a warning, if you can't stand non-HD movies, well - this might not be for you, but if you're highly sentimental and love Christmas like I do, including all the romance, then I have linked my top ten Hallmark Christmas movies for you to watch below. Happy Holidays!
