Solidum

"Solidum" in Latin, translated to English, simply means - SOLID.

It's interesting to note how we transition from season to season, we keep thriving and learning more everyday.

As of late, I have had to make some big moves and decisions to pursue a path I'm happy with, one that brings me peace and brings me to a place of solidarity.

That's the beauty of life, we constantly have to make decisions that will either lead us to peace or cause us pain.

Maintaining a solid stance in your beliefs, values, career or even family life, I believe, is the key to maintaining  a good mind, soul and body balance. That means, discerning what's really good for your Spirit and what isn't.

Being solid allows us to understand what it is that we need, it helps us create a clear picture of what we want out of life and instead of going with the flow, we become the flow. We learn the skill of balancing things out, we learn to focus on the good rather than the negative.

I always emphasise that life is a journey, so often we get caught up in petty thinking that we forget to be grateful for what we have and when you do forget, life has a way of reminding you of what you should be focusing on.

The mind is a battle ground, but if you can master your mind, you can master the way you live your life. It all comes down to being solid.

What does it mean to be solid?

It means being disciplined in your thinking, responsible for your behaviour, and it means making good life choices - choices that you can be happy and proud of.

The past year and a half, working as a Media Manager was a real learning experience, now that I'm more flexible and I have the time to put a lot of my energy into heading up Reve, I've had the privilege of being able to chat with countless of people every single day that I can help in some way, and that makes me happy.

I have noticed that no matter how many people I speak to, there's one common factor - All of them are in a pursuit of happiness.

I played tug of war with the concept too and I'm realising, that happiness which obviously comes with a sense of solidarity comes when we are 100% honest with ourselves and others.

Happiness doesn't come when we live in fear or when we try to please others to get something we feel we need, when we try to understand what we are in search of, be it acceptance, a job, a family, a husband or a wife,  when we figure out what we are seeking, usually what we think we need to make us happy or the root of it, isn't what we actually need, because happiness is not finding something, happiness is becoming something. 

We paint pictures of what we think it is that will make us happy, but when we get it - we want more or we aren't truly satisfied.

Being solid means that you are grateful for what you have, and nothing more or nothing less can change that. It's great to have vision, it's amazing to have dreams, but don't get so caught up in the future, that you forget about enjoying the present, neither look back - but be thankful for where you are and what God is doing in your life today.

Do your best in the present, be honest with what you have to work through as an individual today, ready yourself for the challenges that's ahead (mentally, emotionally, physically) - Build yourself on a solid foundation, where you aren't moved by a wave or a wind current.

Steady yourself and invest in yourself. This is an important aspect in moving forward, not just in your life but those around you as well. Your vision is too small, if it only includes you, and your family.

There's a world waiting for all of creation to rise up and take their place, there's a place for you, what you have within you is valuable and someone else needs it.

There's something unique inside every single one us, never let anyone belittle what you believe you are called to do, but with that said, maintain humility and listen to others, it doesn't hurt to be open-minded or to be receptive to constructive criticism. 

I pray that you become all that you were meant to be, that you expand your vision and build yourself, so that no matter what comes at you. Your faith is steadfast and that your quiet spirit is bold.
